Dr. Mantu Gupta is a Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He serves as Chair of Urology at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside, and as Director of the Mount Sinai Kidney Stone Center. He also leads Endourology and Stone Disease for the Mount Sinai Health System.
He is widely recognized as a leader in the research and treatment of urinary stone disease, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, urinary tract obstruction, and upper tract urothelial cancers. Over the course of his career, he has helped develop many of the techniques used in modern practice. Dr. Gupta is considered one of the world’s leading endoscopic and minimally invasive surgeons, having performed more than 20,000 major endourological procedures.
In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Gupta is known for his compassionate and comprehensive approach to care. He takes a holistic view of stone disease management, incorporating medical therapy, nutrition, and prevention strategies alongside surgical treatment.
Before joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Gupta spent 18 years at Columbia University Medical Center, where he served as Associate Professor, Director of Endourology, and Director of the Kidney Stone Center.
