Barbara Chubak, MD, is an Associate Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She provides comprehensive urologic care and specializes in diagnosing and treating sexual dysfunction for patients of all sexes, genders, orientations, and congenital conditions. She is especially dedicated to meeting the sexual health needs of women and others who have historically been marginalized or underserved. Her work also addresses common related concerns, including voiding dysfunction and pelvic pain syndromes.

Dr. Chubak earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins, where she also completed a master’s degree in the history of medicine. She completed her residency at Montefiore Medical Center–Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with fellowship training in bioethics and sexual medicine at the Cleveland Clinic before and after residency. This interdisciplinary background shapes both her clinical care and research. She focuses on delivering care that is culturally aware and respectful of different perspectives, while firmly grounded in scientific evidence.

In addition to her academic training, Dr. Chubak is certified in prosthetic surgery by the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and in vulvoscopy by the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. She is active in medical education and peer review in the United States and internationally. Her work has been recognized by the American Urological Association for excellence in research.
